Found in Portugal, Spain, Balaeric Islands, France, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Italy, Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia and Albania in short grasslands, meadows, garrigue, scrub and open woodlands at elevations up to 1300 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence
