Common Name The Pleurothallis-Like Phloeophila

Found in Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations of 200 to 1800 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with short ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 tubular sheaths carrying a single, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a short, successively single flowered inflorescence arising from the apex of the ramicaul with the flower held near the leaf base.
CAUTION The first photo is absolutely correct for Luer's drawing in Icones, the second photo is the photo in Native Colombian Orchids Vol 3 1991 and the last 2 photos are what is commonly sold as P pleurothallopsis.
