Common Name The Late-Blooming Ophyrs

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Endemic to southern Italy, this miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid occurs in short, poor grasslands, abandoned cultivation, garrigue and scrub at elevations up to 400 meters and blooms in the spring on a dense, 3 to 7 flowered inflorescence.

It is a natural hybrid between O. candica and O tenthredinifera.
