Common Name The Yellow Hsenhsua - In China Huang Hua Xiao Hong Men Lan
Flower Size .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm]
Found in southern and southwestern Xizang and northwestern Yunnan provinces of China and eastern Himalayas in open grassy meadows at elevations of 3970 to 4270 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a globose tuber giving rise to a stem enveloped by 1 to 2, leafless sheaths below and 2 basal, subopposite, oblong to oblong-lanceolate, acute leaves and bracteate above that blooms in the summer on an erect, single flowered inflorescence with a large, leaf-like, oblanceolate, acute, shorter to longer than the ovary floral bract and carryijg fragrant flowers.
