Found in central and southern Taiwan in shady, humid forests at elevations of 2000 to 3000 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid to globose, 2 to 3 noded pseudobulbs in a chain and carrying a single, apical, linear, plicate, gradually tapering basally into the indistinct, petiolate-like base leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, to 20" [50 cm] long, laxly 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence with 3 to 4 sheaths and lanceolate floral bracts
