Common Name Hopp's Ornithocephalus [German engineer and Orchid collector in Colombia early 1900's]

Flower Size

Found in Colombia at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect, ascending rhizome giving rise to a terete stem carrying demsely equitant, ensiform, acute leaves that blooms in the winter on an axillary, suberect, peduncle few bracted, muriculate, 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm] long, secund, densely many flowered inflorescence with recurved, oblong, apiculate, margin denticulate, much longer than the ovary floral bracts.
