Found in southern Ecuador and Peru in montane cloud forests at elevations around 1700 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a monopodial stem enveloped completely by imbricating, distichous leaf sheaths carrying conduplicate, obliquely narrowly triangular leaves that blooms in the fall through earlier winter on an axillary, from the apical leaves, ascending , to 2.4" [6 cm] long, puberulent, mostly simultaneously many flowered inflorescence.
