Found in Santander department of Colombia in cloud forests at elevations around 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with an ascending rhizome with 2.8 to 4" between each oval, flattened pseudobulbs enveloped by a foliar sheath on each side and carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptic leaf that blooms in the fall on an axillary, 9.6" [24 cm] long, to 23 flowered inflorescence with triangular-acute, longer than the pedicel floral bracts.
