Found in Ecuador in wet cloud forests at elevations of 2800 to 3450 meters with very cold nights as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a branching stem enveloped completely by imbricate leaf sheaths carrying short, reclining, falcate, conduplicate, channeled leaves that blooms on axillary, racemose, as long as the leaves, few flowered inflorescence carrying simultaneous, small, pale yellow with a red anther flowers
