Found in Cuzco Peru in thickets at elevations of 2800 to 3700 meters as a large sized, cold growing epiphyte with a pendent, flexuous to arcuate, more or less branching, rather slender, entirely to mostly concealed by loose, infundibuliform leaf sheaths carrying numerous, small, distichous, articulate, wide spreading, fleshy, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, acute to sub-acute, prominently mucronate, minutely ciliolate towards the apex leaves that blooms on axillary, numerous, shorter than the leaves, commonly 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with spreading, amplexicaul, triangular-lanceolate to ovate-triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying flowers that are large for the genus.
