Found in New Caledonia in sparsely wooded forests or in damp scrublands at elevations up to 1200 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or occasional lithophyte on mossy rocks with 1 to 2, lying flat to the ground, green to purplish red with a textured coppery tint, lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, 5 to 20 flowered inflorescence
