Found in Venezuela, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam and northern Brazil at elvations around 350 meters as a medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with a short rhizome giving rise to an erect, terete, leafy towards the middle stem carrying 3 to 6, spreading, 5 to 7 nerved, lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, acute to abruptly acuminate, cuneate to widely cuneate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect racemose, peduncle with a few membraneous, ovate, acuminate, shortly and sparsely pilose bracts, 1.6 to 2.8" [4 to 7 cm] long ovarall, successively single, several flowered inflorescence
