Common Name The Closed Paphinia [refers to the flower not opening]
Flower Size 1/2" wide, 1" long [1.25 cm x 2.5 cm]
Found in Colombia in wet montane forests as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying plicate leaves that blooms in the fall on a pendant, 4" [10 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence carrrying capanulate flowers that do not open well.
Many references cite this species as a cleisostogamus form and synonym of C cristata, but I have left it separate pending better information.
