Common Name The Large Flowered Paphinia

Found in northern Brazil on trees as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, robust, ovoid to globular-ovoid, laterally compressed to compressed on two sides pseudobulbs enveloped by 2 small basal sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect, lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, pseudo-petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a pendant, thin, 1.2 to 3.2" [3 to 8 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence enveloped by 3 to 4, acuminate, lanceolate bracts.
