Found in Sabah Borneo in lower montane mossy forests at elevations around 1600 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a short stem carrying 4 to 5, spreading, oblong-elliptic, obtuse to subacute, pale green boldly tesselated with darker green leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, cylindrical, purple, densely short, purplish-brown haired, to 10" [25 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a cucullate, ovate, acute floral bract.
