Found in Sabah Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1600 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or lithophyte on rocks with 6 to 8, suberect, oblong-lanceolate, rounded, dark green leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, arcuate, to 5' [150 cm] long, 4 to 12 flowered inflorescence

Similar to, but separated from P kolopakingii by the shorter, ovate dorsal sepal, spirally twisted petals, a shorter lip and a white staminode with a less hairy margin
