Found in Western Australia in semi-arid sandplains in and among sedge russocks to gain shelter from the hot dry conditions at elevations of 20 to 150 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, green to reddish, terete leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, 2.4 to 8" [6 to 20 cm] long, successively 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence
