Common Name Rives' Pelatantheria - In China Zuan Zhu Lan

Found in western Guangxi, southern to western Yunnan provinces of China, Laos and Vietnam on tree trunks or rocks in broad-leaved evergreen forests at elevations of 700 to 1100 meters as a large to giant sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an elongate, branched stem carrying many, ligulate, coriaceous, bilobed apically, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall on a lateral, short, 2 to 7 flowered inflorescence
Separated from the very similar P insectifera as P rivesii differs in having a toothed and hairy column while P insectifera does not.
