Common Name The Spread Hand Lip Pelatantheria - In China Ju Wei Zuan Zhu Lan
Flower Size 1/2" [1.2 cm]
Found in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands at elevations of sealevel to 700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an elongate, branching stem carrying elliptic-oblong, obtuse, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an axillary, short, single flowered inflorescence.
This species is often confused with P bicuspidata but this one always has hairs on the apical finger of the lip. P bicuspidata never has hairs on the finger at the apex of the lip and can be forked apically.
