Common Name The Cowl Carrying Pelexia

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil as a terrestrial with 1 to 3, maturing after flowering, oblong, acute to shortly acuminate, subcuneate below into the robust, shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, peduncle 8 to 12" [20 to 30 cm] long, provided with 7 to 11, erect, membraneous, acute to shortly acuminate, sheathing bracts, rachis erect, 2" [5 cm] long, 10 to 12 flowered inflorescence with lighty green, membraneous, distinctly 5 to 7 nerved, concave, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
"This species is characterized by the loosely cuculate sheaths and a frointakky coimressed spur. The lip is spathulate-pendulous, but with a slightly pronounced medium contraction and termnates in a slightly pointed triangular-renioform blade." Hoehne 1945
