Found in Boyaca and Cundinamarca departments of Colombia at elevations of 2800 to 2900 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 5, basal, lanceolate acute, in pressed plants grayish pale violet above, dull red beneath, lanceolate, acute, narrowing belo9w into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, peduncle [17 to 33.5 cm] long, provided with 4 to 5, herbaceous, thin, acute, closely adnate to the stem, longer than the internodes, rachis 1.6 to 4.6" [4 to 11.5 cm] long, 8 to 20 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, herbaceous, thin, delicate, densely glandular externally, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
