Common Name Ekman's Pelexia [Swedish Botanist collected in Dominican Republic earlier 1900's]

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay at moderate elevations as a just medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a few, lanceolate, acuminate, not there at blooming, grading to bracts above leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, to 16" [35 cm] long, enveloped by 8, non imbricate, acuminate bracts, rachis to 4" [to 10 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence and carrying flowers that face in all directions.
