Common Name Ghiesbreght's Pelexia [Belgian Orchid Collector in Mexico 1800's and Collector of the type]

Found in Oaxaca and Veracruz states of Mexico and Guatemala in forests at eleavtions around 1550 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with 5, basal, in a rosette, ellitic to elliptic-ovate, shoprtly acuminate, attenuate gradually into the petiolate base leaves taht blooms in the spring on an erect, 12 to 18.2" [30 to 45.5 cm] long scape, erect, delicate to relatively stout, rather densely glandular in the upper part, provided with 5 to 6, tubular, acute to acuminate, imbricating, shorter than the internodes, upper ones somewhat glandular, herbaceous delicate cauline sheaths, rachis 4.4 to 5.8" [11 to 14.5 cm] lomg, rather laxly 18 to 25 flowered inflorescdence with oblong-lanceoalte, acute, herbaceous, delicate, sparsely glandular outside, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying rather small, suberect, tubular flowers.
Similar to P funkiana but differs in the hypochile of the ribbon-like lip, and the epichils has a prominent V shaped callus at the base. P funkiana has a broadly obtriangular basally strongly compressed above and expands gradually towards the ovate apex. The callus of the epichile base is small. L, .
