Found in San Luis Potosi, Chiapas and Yucatan states of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador at elevations around 60 meters in open scrub between rocks in semi arid , shady areas as a miniature to small sized, hot growing terrestrial orchid without leaves at blooming occuring in the winter on an erect, terminal, peduncle to 4.8" [12 cm] long, provided wiuth lanceolate,, oblong, hyaline, acu7minate, red haired sheathing bracts, rachis to 1.2" [3 cm] long, 7 to 8 flowered inflorescence with concave-oblong, acuminate, sparingly hairy floral bracts.
