Found in Ecuador and Lima department of Peru at elevations around 2700 to 2900 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with about 4, elliptic-oblong, acute, spotted leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, peduncle provided with and almost completely enveloping, imbricate, acute, sheathing bracts, rachis many flowered inflorescence with amplexicaul, acuminate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying greenish yellow, waxy looking, unscented flowers
