Found in eastern and southern Brazil and northern Argentina as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped partially by lanceolate, acute, pubescent sheaths and carrying 2?, broadly elliptic, dark green white blotched, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, 8" [to 20 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with a few distant , triangular, acuminate bracts and longer than the flower, pubescent, linear, acute, floral bracts
