Flower Size

Found in Chiriqui province of Panama at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing terrestrial with fusiform, fleshy roots along an elongate, 1.2" [3 cm] long rhizome giving rise to 5, in a basal rosette, lanceolate, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, rather delicate, peduncle to 10" [25 cm] long, glandular above the basal third, provided with 7, tubular, acute, to acuminate, imbricate, herbaceous sheathing bracts, rachis to 4.2 to 5.2" [10.5 to 13 cm] long, densely 15 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute, thin, glandular in the lower part and along the margins, much longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying suberet, tubular flowers with arcuately pendent lateral sepals.
