Found in Brazil as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem enveloped completely by inflated, lanceolate, acute sheaths and carrying a single, ellipitc, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, conduplicate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, 4" [10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear, acute, pubescent, as long as the flower floral bracts.
