Common Name The Sinuous Pelexia

Found in Bolivar department of Colombia at elevations of 1700 to 1950 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with 7, held in a basal rosette, broadly lanceolate, acute, 2.2 to 3.6" [5.5 to 9 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, rather stout, peduncle 7.6 to 9.6" [19 to 24 cm] long, glandular in the upper half, completely enveloped by lanceolate, spacious, acute, herbaceous, uppermost glandular basally, longer than the internodes sheathing bracts, rachis 5.2 to 7.2" [13 to 18 cm] long, 15 to 25 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, acute, thin, herbaceous, externally glandular, slightly to much longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying flowers large for the genus.
P sinuosas is characterized by the strongly sigmoidially bent lip base. The lip between the auricles is ornamented with a v-shaped, fleshy, papillate ridge that does not occur in other species." Szlach. 2019
