Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm] long
Found in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, western Yunann and Zhejiang provinces of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in forests and grassy slopes at elevations around 200 to 1300 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with subglobose to oblong-ellipsoid tubers giving rise to an erect stem with 2 to 4 tubular, basal sheaths and carrying 3 to 5, clustered near the base to spread along the stem, elliptic-lanceolate, attenuate basally, acute to obtuse apically leaves that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on an erect, cylindric, slender, 5.2 to 15.2" [13 to 38 cm] long, laxly to subdensely many flowered inflorescence with a few, lanceolate sterile bracts and ovate-lanceolate, shorter than to slightly exceeding the ovary, acuminate apically floral bracts
