Common Name The Large Peristylus
Flower Size 1/2" [1.2 cm]
Found in Malaysia, Borneo, Java, the Moluccas, Sulawesi, Sumatra and New Guinea in hill and lower montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a large to giant sized, warm growing terrestrial with an oval tuber giving rise to a stout stem carrying leaf-like basal sheaths increasing in size going up to 5 to 8, close set, broadly lanceolate, acuminate, acute, pale bluish green leaves that blooms in the summer, fall and winter on an erect, 30" [75 c] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with seven sterile bracts in the apical half and narrowly lanceolate, long-acuminate, greenish white floral bracts.
