Found in Colombia in primary forests near sealevel and along rivers as a large sized, hot growing epiphyte with large, close set, ovoid, smooth pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect, plicate leaves that blooms on a short, lateral to pendulous, few flowered inflorescence with 3 acute bracts.
