Found in Guangdong province of China in rocky places in forests or on limestone slopes at elevations of 200 to 1700 meters as a large to giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with dark green, cylindric, several to 10 noded pseudobulbs enveloped by 6 to 7 leaf sheaths towards the apex and carrying elliptic, chartaceous, plicate, erect petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, arising from the lowest node, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, racemose, many flowered inflorescence
