Common Name The Large Lip Phaius

Flower Size 1.63" [4.75 cm] long

Found in western and southern Sumatra at elevations of 1700 to 2000 meters as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial with a short, robust rhizome giving rise to erect, close set, basally thickened, terete, leafy in the upper half stems carrying about 6, elliptic to lanceolate, lower ones shorter and very shortly contracted basally, upper ones long acuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, from nodes on the stems below the leaves, peduncle terete, 2.2 to 3.4" [5.5 to 8.5 cm] long, rachis .88 to 1.1" [2.2 to 2.6 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence,
