Found in Hainan and Yunnan provinces of China in forests on rocks at elevations around 1900 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing lithophyte with a short stem carrying a few deciduous, obliquely oblong, retuse leaves that blooms in the summer on a racemose to few branched, to 16.8" to 22" [42 to 55 cm] long, 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence with sparse, broadly ovate bracts and ovate floral bracts

CAUTION!! Kew currently has this species as a synonym of P stobartii and it may well be as they are quite similar, I await better references on both species.
