Found in the Philipines as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte that blooms in the summer on a branched, gradually extending, to 12" [30 cm] long, successively up to 6 at once, several flowered inflorescence
This species is a natural hybrid between P. aphrodite and P. equestris There is also an is an informal variety of P. x intermedia that is found only on the island of Leyte in the Philippines where it is spreading through gardens voluntarily.
