Flower Size 1.6 to 2.08" [4.5 to 5.2cm]
Found in the Mentawai Islands of Sumatra on tall trees in riverine forests at elevations up to 100 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte that blooms in the summer and fall on a 6 to 20" [15 to 50 cm] long, inclined to erect, sometimes branched inflorescence and carrying slightly fragrant flowers with a scent similar to P violacea.
"The species is similar to both P violacea and P bellina but P mentawaiewnsis has a long, rounded rachis up to 20" [50 cm] long, that can reach longer than the tongue shaped, often curled leaves.
