Common Name Robinson's Phalaenopsis [British Plant Collector in SE Asia late 1800's early 1900's]

Flower Size 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm]

Found on Ambon Island within the Moluccas on tree trunks in shady, humid forests with even year round rainfall at elevations around 600 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying 4 to 5, fleshy, pendent, oblong-lanceolate, acute to sub-obtuse, conduplicate, cuneate below into the base leaves that blooms in the fallon a suberect to arcuate, simple, 7.8 to 8" [19 to 20 cm] long, shorter than the leaves, few flowered inflorescence.

CAUTION The photo above is close to J J Smith's description of P robisonii but not exact so please use with caution!!!!
