Found on Java, Lesser Sunda Islands and Sumatra in montane forests at elevations of 820 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with globose to ovate, close set pseudobulbs carrying 2 lanceolate, acute, tough, hard leaves that blooms in the spring on an initially erect then arching to 12" [30 cm] long, 20 to 25 flowered inflorescence
