Found in southeastern Yunnan province of China in evergreen broad-leaved forests on shaded humid rocks at elevations of 1000 to 1400 meters as a small sized, cool growing lithophyte with rather dense, cylindrical, attenuate towards the apex pseudobulbs carrying 2, narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, papery, many veined, long acuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a lateral to pendent, arising as the new growth appears on the last older pseudobulb, 2.4 to 4" [6 to 10 cm] long, 7 to 9 flowered inflorescence with persisitent ovate, concave floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers
