Found in Sarawak and Kalimantan Borneo at elevations around 1330 to 1950 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with more or less swollen to slender pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, more or less plicate, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 5 to 7 main nerved, sunken above,, gradually narrwoing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on a proteranthous or synanthous, erect, to 4" [ 10 cm] long, slightly flattened, elongating as it is blooming, rachis erect, 2.8 to 5" [7 to 12.5 cm] long, 22 to 30 flowered inflorescence with ligulate, pinkish floral bracts that are not present at blooming and carrying fragrant white flowers
