Found in Sumatra and Java at elevations of 1500 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid-oblong, broader than thick pseudobulbs carrying 2, lanceolate, acute, shiny green, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a proteranthous, erect, arising from developing pseudobulbs, peduncle oval in cross-section, 4.8 to 6" [12 to 15 cm] long, rachis zig-zag, quadrangular, 4.8" [to 12 cm] long, 10.8" [27 cm] long overall, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts.
