Found in Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 2400 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with an erect to ascending, more or less angular, more or less swollen pseudoblulbs enveloped by persistent, sheaths becoming fibrous with age and carrying a single, apical, narrowly linear, acute to rounded, plicate, 5 to 9 main nerved, petiolate below into the base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on a synanthous, wiry, somewhat angular, pendulous, 4.6 to 13.6" [11.5 to 34 cm] long, 9 to 40 flowered inflorescence with 1 to 3, sterile bracts and persistent, patent, lateral margins incurved, ovate to broadly ovate, acute to obtuse, hairy, membraneous, floral bracts
