Common Name or Meaning The Folded Ear Phreatia

Found in Sumatra and Java in montane forests at elevations around 1584 to 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with ovate pseudobulbs carrying 2 to rarely 3, narrowly lanceolate leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, slender, much longer than the leaves; the peduncle 2 to 3" [5 to 7.5 cm] long, the rachis 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long, fairly dense, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, smaller going up floral bracts and carrying wide open, yellowish white flowers.
