Common Name Coleman's Platanthera [American Collector of the type current]
Flower Size .16 to .2" [4 to 5 mm]
Found in north and east central California in open evergreen woods with very sandy soils or on roadbeds at elevations of 1200 to 2300 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with roundish to oblong tubers giving rise to an erect stem carryingf 2 toi 3, rarely 4, slender, rather grasslike, generally broadest at the base, conduplicate, erect, glossy green, withering at antithesis leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, peduncle 1.6 to 8.8" [4 to 22 cm] long, rachis 3.6 to 12" [9 to 30 cm] long, 15 to 80 flowered inflorescence and carrying concolor green flowers
