Found in Myanmar and Thailand in hill evergreen forests on thick mossy covered branches and trunks at elevations of 1200 to 1950 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with 1 to 3 cylindric-fusform tubers giving rise to 1 to 3, mid green, sessile, linear to [ob]lanceolate, acute to acuminate leaves and 1 to 2, sheathing leaves above giving rise to a terminal, fairly lax, 2 to 12 flowered, rachis .32 to 6" [.8 to 15 cm] long, racemose inflorescence

The recently described P epiphytica Aver & efinov from Vietnam seems morphologically close to this species and may be conspecific, if so,then this name takes precedence
