Flower Size .4 to .8” [1 to 2 cm] long

Found in New Mexico US, and northern Mexico in oak and pine/oak forests at elevations of 2300 to 2400 metrs as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that sometimes are so short to appear absent, that blooms in the summer on an erect, several flowered inflorescence.
