Found in Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Congo, Zaire, Angola and Zambia in sandy grasslands as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial or lithophyte at elevations of 1350 to 1500 meters with 1 to 2, ovoid to ellipsoid tubers giving rise to an erect, delicate, glabrous, leafy stem carrying 3 to 9, linear to narrowly lanceolate, acute, evenly spread but occasionally in a basal tuft, decreasing in size up the stem leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, .8 to 1.8" [2 to 4.5 cm] long, racemose, densely 1 to 15 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate to broadly ovate, acuminate, glabrous floral bracts.
