Common Name The Deergong Platanthera [A town near where the type was found]

Found in Xizang Automonous region of China in humid alpine conifer forests at elevations around 2800 meters as a mini-miniature to just medium size sized, cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with an erect, terete stems enveloped by 2 tubular sheaths at the base and carrying a single, basal, elliptic, basally contracted into a petiole-like amplexcaul sheath, apex obtuse rounded, adaxially green with bottle green reticulate veins, abaxially pale green, midvein prominent leaf with 3, long-elliptic, foliaceous, strerile bracts that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an erect, rachis 2 to 5.2"" [5 to 13 cm] long, secund, densely to 30 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white flowers.
