Found in the Philippines in open heath at elevations around 2400 to 2500 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying much reduced, cordate-ovate to lanceolate, acute leaves grading above into clasping, lanceolate, acute bracts that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, 4 to 5" [10 to 12.5 cm] long, loose, several flowered inflorescence with lanceoalte, acute, longer than the ovaries floral bracts and carring green flowers
The flowers of this species are similar to P angustata but considerably larger and different in detail
